Our Children Are Our Heart

Our children are our heart, they are courageously embarking on a journey that we have travelled. How we live life, learn, think, verbalise,  socialise, consume, restrain, celebrate, worry, all impacts on how they grow and learn. Our spiritual, physical, social, emotional, mental, financial, wellbeing impacts them. If you need support sometimes it’s just a chat over a cup of coffee or asking someone to support you, call (07) 2141 1116  or send an email to hub@villageconnect.org.au. We have trained counsellors and community connectors who can provide you with support. Check out our family support page for more information.

The project aims to improve access to developmental screening and early intervention services for children who have not yet attended school in our Pasifika community in Logan.

The TOTs project is a collaborative initiative between Children’s Health Queensland, Department of Education, Brisbane South Primary Health Network (PHN), Logan Together, Headstart Queensland and the Benevolent Society. The program gives much needed access for our community to free Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy for our pre-school Pasifika children.

If you have any concerns regarding your child’s developmental needs you can reach us by calling (07) 2141 1116 or email hub@villageconnect.org.au.

Newborn Hearing Screening

All babies born in Queensland can have their hearing checked. This is called Newborn Hearing Screening and it helps every child have the best chance for developing speech and language by understanding a baby's hearing as early as possible. Contact your GP for a referral to book a hearing screening for your newborn at our hub. For more information contact us on hub@villageconnect.org.au or call on (07) 2141 1116

Children often suffer the most when families can't get the health treatments they need. The Child Health Pathway project aims to help Pasifika families navigate the healthcare system more effectively to support their children aged 0 -6 years.
